About the Job Summary
The researcher will assist in the project of engineering self-sustaining synthetic cell. The research will contribute to efforts in engineering ribosome and other elements of translation system that are reconstituted in autonomous synthetic cell from evolvable genome. Job Duties Research - 90%
Perform molecular biology experiments, cloning, cell culture and liposome formation experiments. Writing papers - 10%
Write results of research, preparing figures, contributing to writing discussion and conclusions, for peer-reviewed publications from this project. Qualifications Required Qualifications must be documented in application materials. Required Qualifications
BA/BS degree, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years. Skills in molecular biology experiments, cloning, and gene editing. Preferred Qualifications
Protein purification and enzymology assay experience. About the Department The Department of Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development comprises faculty from both the Medical School and the College of Biological Sciences. Faculty members are engaged in research in three key disciplines of the department-genetics, cell biology and developmental biology.
Pay and Benefits Pay Range:
