The Center of Molecular Oncology and Cellular Therapeutics (MOCT) at Children's Mercy Research Institute (CMRI) is looking to recruit a senior investigator to enhance our existing strengths and broaden the CMRI's capacity to fulfil our mission to improve the health and wellness of children and their families locally, nationally and internationally. We invite applications for an endowed chair position for pediatric immunotherapy or pediatric hematological malignancies to expand our current laboratory-based research programs and collaborate with faculty members in the Division of Clinical Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant (CHOT) at the Department of Pediatrics, to develop new diagnostic and treatment options for pediatric and young adult hematology and oncology patients. We seek qualified individuals with expertise in basic and translational cancer research. The successful candidate shall have a strong track record of academic achievement evidenced by sustained extramural funding at the national level and the ability to build a nationally recognized pediatric research program in the field of immunology, hematology, oncology, and/or other specialties. The individual selected for this position shall hold a PhD, MD/PhD or MD credential and will be supported by an endowment at Children's Mercy. Successful candidates will be expected to work collaboratively with faculty across Children's Mercy and national/international partner institutions. We have mature collaborations with more than 50 hospitals and academic institutions worldwide, and strong ties with regional partners such as the University of Kansas, University of Kansas Medical Center, University of Missouri-Kansas City, and Stower's Research Institute, which provide a rich research environment and support for continued professional development.
