Position Summary/Description:
Join an interdisciplinary research postdoctoral fellowship program in basic and translational aspects of genetics, molecular biology, immunology, microbiology, pathophysiology and treatment of liver and gastrointestinal tract disorders. Program goals are to attract Ph.D., M.D. and DVM postdoctoral trainees to these fields and to provide training in state-of-the-art research techniques. Fellowships are for one year, with a potential second year of support dependent on successful renewal of our competitive T32 grant renewal, and are funded by an NIH (NIDDK) Institutional Training Grant (T32). Specific mentors and areas of interest can be found at med.unc/medicine/gi/education/basic-science-track/
Education and Experience:
Candidates should have a strong academic track record, work well in a goal-oriented team setting, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Additionally, candidates must have a PhD, and/or MD degree by appointment date.
