Description:
The research team of Dr. Madelyn Frumkin is seeking a motivated postdoctoral scholar to join our dynamic and interdisciplinary team. Our lab leverages digital technology to improve understanding, prediction, prevention, and treatment of mental and physical health problems, with a particular emphasis on chronic pain and co-occurring disorders. Projects will include identification of novel digital biomarkers associated with chronic pain after breast cancer surgery and user-centered development of a digital therapeutic to reduce persistent opioid use and impairment after spine surgery. The lab is housed within the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health, a P30 "Center of Excellence" funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The successful candidate will have opportunities for mentorship in digital health, data analytic methods, manuscript preparation, grant writing, and more. Qualifications:
Required qualifications: 1. Candidates must have an MD or PhD in psychology, data science, computer science, engineering, or a related field. 2. Candidates must be proficient in quantitative data analysis, as evidenced by a track record of publications and/or presentations. 3. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
1. Experience analyzing ecological momentary assessment and/or passive physiological data using R and/or Python. 2. Clinical or research experience in the fields of chronic pain, mental health, and/or substance use disorders. 3. Interest or experience in digital app design and deployment. 4. In-person or hybrid work at Dartmouth is preferred, but remote-only applicants will be considered. It is not expected that candidates meet all preferred qualifications.
