Job Description Scientist, Process Cell Sciences (PCS) at Rahway, NJ The Biologics Process Research & Development organization within our company's Research Laboratories is responsible for developing the drug substance manufacturing processes for our company's biologics pipeline. We work closely with colleagues in Discovery, Pre-clinical and Early Development to rapidly develop manufacturing processes for diverse biotherapeutics, and efficiently manufacture material to supply clinical trials. We are also responsible for commercial process development and development and implementation of new manufacturing technologies. We work with our partners in our company's Manufacturing Division to commercialize and launch new products. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our Process Cell Sciences (PCS) group as a Scientist. In this impactful role, the successful candidate will partner closely with PCS team members and collaborate across internal and external biologics cell bank manufacturing sites to advance cell banking technology transfer (TT). The selected candidate will be expected to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects, including proactive planning and leading TT meetings, design and execution of cell banking pilot studies, batch record review and comment resolution, and development and execution of experimental protocols to support Quality Notification (QN) investigations. Position Qualifications:
Education Requirement:
- M.S. in Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline with at least 2 years of cell line development and/or cell banking experience; OR
- B.
S. with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience
Required Experience and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of cell biology/molecular biology and hands-on experience of mammalian cell culture work.
- Familiar with industrial cell line development workflow and cell banking principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues in a succinct and logical manner.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Excellent project management skills in driving results within tight timeline.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Experience in GMP cell banking.
- Experience in technology transfer for GMP cell banking and/or upstream manufacturing process.
- Familiar with regulatory guidelines related to biologics cell line development and cell banking.

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits.
