$27.00 - $35.00 per hour Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Andrologist / Junior Embryologist to join our clinical IVF laboratory team. This is a full-time training track position for a candidate who wants to build a career in reproductive laboratory science. The role begins with full responsibility for andrology bench work and expands progressively into embryology under direct supervision of our senior embryology staff and laboratory director. Overview Core responsibilities include diagnostic and therapeutic andrology, gamete cryopreservation, embryology laboratory support, quality control, and laboratory documentation. As competency is demonstrated, the position offers continued growth and professional development into hands-on embryology procedures with a defined pathway toward independent practice. Candidates without prior endocrine analyzer experience will be cross-trained on our endocrine immunoassay platform to support daily hormone testing coverage. Essential Functions Andrology Perform routine diagnostic semen analyses in accordance with current WHO standards Evaluate sperm concentration, motility, morphology, viability, and additional parameters Perform sperm preparation for IUI, IVF, and ICSI Perform sperm cryopreservation and thaw procedures Maintain accurate sperm inventory and cryostorage records Support the integrity of cryopreserved specimens in liquid nitrogen storage Embryology (Training Track, Progressive Responsibility Under Direct Supervision) Prepare culture dishes, media, and oil overlays per laboratory SOPs Perform daily media and reagent QC Serve as a witness for gamete and embryo identification per double-witnessing protocols Assist with oocyte retrievals, including dish setup and oocyte identification Assist with embryo transfer procedures, including catheter loading support Progress into oocyte denudation, embryo grading, and additional bench procedures as competency is documented Participate in structured competency assessments and ongoing professional development Endocrine Laboratory (Cross-Training if Not Already Proficient) Perform endocrine hormone testing on automated immunoassay instrumentation Perform calibration, QC, and routine maintenance of laboratory analyzers Report and document results accurately in the EMR IVF Laboratory Support Perform and document daily QC of IVF laboratory equipment, incubators, refrigerators, freezers, and environmental monitoring systems Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and general laboratory maintenance Support cryogenic repository integrity and LN2 inventory management Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance Follow CAP, CLIA, FDA, OSHA, and New Jersey state laboratory regulations Maintain accurate laboratory records in accordance with practice SOPs Participate in proficiency testing, internal QA audits, and quality improvement initiatives Team Communication and Culture Adhere to all laboratory policies and procedures Contribute to a practice culture built on colleague respect, collaboration, and outstanding patient experience Confidential and Sensitive Information Ensure the confidentiality of all patient records in accordance with the practice confidentiality policy and HIPAA guidelines. Education and Experience Required Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, medical technology, or a related life science Strong attention to fine detail and manual dexterity for microscopic work Computer and EMR proficiency Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team Professional communication with patients, partners, physicians, and staff Composure in time-sensitive clinical situations Preferred Prior experience in an IVF or andrology laboratory Prior experience performing semen analyses and sperm cryopreservation Coursework or laboratory experience in reproductive biology, developmental biology, or cell culture Prior experience operating endocrine immunoassay analyzers (not required, will train) Physical Requirements Prolonged standing Manual dexterity sufficient for microscopic and micromanipulation procedures Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to work safely with liquid nitrogen Normal color vision Schedule and Location Full-time, Monday through Friday with rotating weekend and holiday coverage as required by clinical volume On-site in Wall Township, New Jersey, with possible future satellite locations License Driver's License required. As competency is documented and clinical volume supports expansion, the role progresses into advanced procedures including full embryology bench responsibility, ICSI, vitrification, and biopsy support.
