Primary Location Location S Department EH&CanBio - Exp Hem Shift Day (United States of America) Schedule Full time Weekly Hours 40 FTE 1 Employee Status Regular The Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute (CBDI) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center invites applications for a faculty position in Brain Tumor Research at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. We seek an outstanding laboratory scientist or physician-scientist conducting innovative research focused on brain tumors and other central nervous system malignancies. The successful candidate will establish or expand an independent, nationally recognized research program that combines fundamental discovery with therapeutic translation. We are particularly interested in investigators developing cellular or immune therapies, small-molecule therapeutics, or other innovative treatment strategies grounded in rigorous mechanistic studies of brain tumor biology. Appointment will be in the Division of Experimental Hematology and Cancer Biology (EHCB) or the Division of Oncology, depending on the candidate's scientific and clinical background. Research Environment Cincinnati Children's provides a highly collaborative environment for cancer discovery and translation, bringing together basic scientists, physician-scientists, clinicians, and therapeutic development programs across CBDI, Cincinnati Children's, and the University of Cincinnati. This recruitment is part of an effort to further develop an integrated brain tumor research program connecting fundamental biology, disease modeling, therapeutic development, and clinical investigation. Investigators have access to extensive research infrastructure, including genomics and single-cell technologies, proteomics and metabolomics, genome engineering, computational biology, human biospecimens, preclinical models, drug discovery, and cellular and immune therapy platforms. Additional opportunities for collaboration extend across cancer biology, neuroscience, developmental biology, immunology, gene and cell therapy, and clinical oncology at Cincinnati Children's, the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center. Candidate Profile We seek candidates with a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree and an innovative research program focused on brain tumors or related CNS malignancies. Physician-scientists may combine an independent laboratory program with clinical activities. Priority will be given to investigators conducting in-depth, mechanistically driven discovery research with a strong translational focus, particularly programs that use biological insights to develop cellular or immune therapies or small-molecule therapeutics. We are especially interested in candidates whose work bridges discovery, preclinical modeling, and therapeutic development and complements existing strengths across Cincinnati Children's and the University of Cincinnati. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should demonstrate an outstanding record of scientific accomplishment and strong potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level should have an established record of impactful scholarship, extramural funding, mentorship, and scientific leadership.
