Job Description

The Department of Heart, Blood, and Kidney Research (formerly Cardiovascular and Metabolic Sciences), chaired by Dr. Stanley Hazen, MD, PhD, in Cleveland Clinic Research, seeks investigators who use multidisciplinary approaches to determine the underlying causes of and develop new treatments for cardiovascular, kidney, and blood diseases. We are seeking to expand and enhance our research efforts in the areas of cardio-metabolism, vascular biology, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, arrhythmia, renal biology, and heart failure with an open search for NIH funded investigators at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Staff levels who will leverage existing expertise and clinical infrastructure for programmatic efforts. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in mechanistic investigations and systems that include cellular, molecular, computational, animal model, and/or human clinical studies. The department is especially interested in qualified candidates to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Individuals will be appointed at Assistant, Associate, or Full Staff (equivalent to Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, respectively) in the Department of Heart, Blood, and Kidney Research in Cleveland Clinic Research. For physician-scientists, joint appointments in clinical institutes will be made as appropriate. Outstanding facilities, new research buildings and cores, generous start-up funds, and ongoing operational support will be provided. Salary ranges based on AAMC benchmarks are $130,000 to $300,000 based on rank and experience. The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking various factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and board certification. This is not inclusive of the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package, which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision, and retirement.
