None About the Role GAPC is seeking an experienced Animal Crimes Specialist for an immediate start to support the delivery of specialist research, advisory, case review and professional training projects relating to animal crime. This is a substantive professional role combining research, analysis, investigative review, client project delivery and subject-matter expertise. The successful candidate will work across commissioned projects for law enforcement agencies, animal protection organizations, prosecutors and other professional clients. They will review complex information, conduct structured research and analysis, contribute to case and operational reviews, prepare high-quality written outputs, and support the development and delivery of specialist professional training. The role requires someone who can take complex investigative, operational and research material and translate it into clear, practical and evidence-informed findings and recommendations. Previous professional experience within policing, animal control, humane law enforcement, animal cruelty investigation, crime analysis, intelligence analysis or a closely related field is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Animal Crimes Projects & Client Delivery Support the planning, coordination and delivery of commissioned animal crimes projects on behalf of GAPC clients. Conduct research and analysis against agreed project objectives, methodologies and scopes of work. Assist with projects from initial scoping through to final delivery. Work with GAPC leadership and clients to identify operational challenges, investigative gaps, training needs and opportunities for improvement. Develop practical, evidence-informed findings and recommendations. Prepare professional reports, analytical assessments, briefings, presentations, project documentation, guidance materials and other client deliverables. Support the development and review of policies, procedures, protocols and organizational approaches relating to animal crime prevention, investigation and response. Maintain accurate project records and ensure assigned work is completed to agreed deadlines and professional standards. Participate in client meetings, presentations, workshops and project reviews where required. Case File Review & Investigative Analysis Review investigative case files, statements, reports, exhibits, timelines and supporting documentation. Identify evidential gaps, inconsistencies, investigative opportunities and areas requiring further enquiry. Prepare structured case-review findings, chronologies, analytical summaries and recommendations. Assess investigative approaches against relevant professional standards and accepted practice. Support GAPC's case-review, investigative advisory and specialist opinion services. Assist with preparation of material relevant to expert witness and specialist opinion assignments where appropriate. Support the preparation of professional written material for law enforcement agencies, prosecutors and other clients. Handle sensitive investigative and client information securely, confidentially and professionally. Research & Analysis Conduct detailed research relating to animal crime, animal cruelty, animal fighting, enforcement practice and associated criminal activity. Analyze quantitative and qualitative information from professional, public and client-provided sources. Identify patterns, trends, threats, risks, operational challenges and emerging issues. Conduct structured literature, policy, legislative and professional practice reviews. Review relevant law enforcement, criminal justice, animal control and regulatory information. Translate research findings into clear and actionable recommendations. Produce research reports, analytical briefings, assessments and professional guidance. Monitor developments in policing, animal welfare enforcement, veterinary forensics, criminal justice and related fields. Contribute to the development of GAPC's research methodologies, analytical frameworks and specialist resources. GAPC Academy & Professional Training Support the development of GAPC Academy courses, webinars and professional development materials. Conduct research for course content, case studies, guidance documents, presentations and supporting resources. Assist subject-matter experts with course research and content development. Support the preparation and delivery of institutional training programs, webinars and workshops. Translate complex investigative and analytical concepts into clear, practical and professionally relevant training material. Review and update educational content to reflect current evidence, emerging trends and professional practice. Contribute ideas for new Academy content based on patterns identified through research, client work and case reviews. Data, Intelligence & Institutional Research Assist with the development and maintenance of specialist datasets and research resources relating to animal crime. Analyze geographic, organizational, offence-related and enforcement trends where relevant to client assignments. Conduct stakeholder mapping and institutional research. Support research into law enforcement agencies, animal protection organizations, prosecutors and other professional sectors. Maintain and improve GAPC's research databases, source libraries and analytical resources. Present complex information in accessible formats including tables, charts, briefing notes and executive summaries. Client & Organizational Support Participate in client meetings, workshops, presentations and project reviews. Represent GAPC professionally at conferences, training events and stakeholder meetings where required. Provide subject-matter input into proposals, scopes of work and prospective client engagements. Identify potential opportunities for additional projects, advisory services or professional training arising from client needs. Work collaboratively with colleagues, external subject-matter experts and specialist contractors. Support the Chief Executive Officer in implementing GAPC's strategic priorities relating to animal crime consultancy, research and professional training. Contribute to maintaining high professional, ethical, analytical and evidential standards across GAPC's work. Required Experience & Skills The successful candidate should demonstrate: Professional experience in one or more of the following areas: animal cruelty investigation; animal control; humane law enforcement; policing; crime analysis; intelligence analysis; criminal-justice research; or another closely related investigative or analytical field. Strong understanding of investigative processes and the challenges faced by law enforcement and animal-protection professionals. Strong research and analytical ability. Ability to interpret complex information and identify relevant patterns, issues and conclusions. Excellent written communication and report-writing skills. Experience producing professional reports, assessments, briefings, case summaries or investigative documentation. Ability to convert research and specialist knowledge into practical recommendations. Strong organizational and project-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Confidence working with law enforcement personnel, animal-protection professionals, prosecutors, executives and other external stakeholders. Sound professional judgment. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small specialist team. Competence using standard research, spreadsheet, presentation and document-production software. Desirable Experience The following would be advantageous: Previous experience as a Police Officer, Crime Analyst, Intelligence Analyst, Animal Control Officer, Humane Law Enforcement Officer or Animal Cruelty Investigator. Experience conducting case-file or investigative reviews. Experience working on animal cruelty, animal fighting or related investigations. Experience analyzing crime, intelligence or enforcement data. Knowledge of veterinary forensics or animal-welfare enforcement. Experience working with prosecutors or supporting criminal investigations. Experience conducting stakeholder interviews or qualitative research. Experience preparing professional training or educational materials. Experience delivering presentations, workshops or training. Relevant degree or professional qualification in criminology, criminal justice, intelligence analysis, research methods, animal science or another related discipline. Working Arrangements This is a hybrid role based in Tampa, Florida. Regular attendance at GAPC's Tampa office is required each week. The successful candidate must therefore live within a reasonable commuting distance of Tampa or be willing to relocate before commencing employment. This is not a fully remote position. GAPC is seeking someone who can start immediately or on very short notice. Applicants should therefore be available to commence employment as soon as reasonably possible. The role may require travel to client locations, law enforcement agencies, conferences, workshops, training events and other professional engagements. Some assignments may occasionally require flexibility outside standard business hours depending on project deadlines, client requirements, travel or scheduled training activity. Salary $65,000 per year, subject to applicable deductions and company policies. Role Purpose The Animal Crimes Specialist provides the core specialist research, analytical and project-delivery capacity required to deliver GAPC's commissioned animal crime work. The position is responsible for converting complex evidence, research, data and professional practice into high-quality analysis, client deliverables and practical recommendations. By providing dedicated operational and project delivery capacity, the role enables the Chief Executive Officer to focus primarily on corporate strategy, organizational leadership, major institutional relationships, commercial development, hiring, financial objectives and the overall direction and growth of
