grant is used, in part, to fund pipeline programs at CSN to increase student persistence and success in the Biomedical Sciences. We receive funding to run the Biomedical Exploration Workshop, in the summer, and Student Empowerment Workshops each semester, fall and spring. The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) is Nevada INBRE's flagship undergraduate summer research program where continuing junior and senior level students work in a research lab for 10 weeks and complete an independent research project. CSN is directing INBRE funds to promote research through the UROP mechanism. Student workers for theCSN UROP
at the CSN West Charleston Campus. Together with the Principal Investigator and Mentor will prepare laboratory materials for experiments for presentation at a National Conference. The following list is an overview of tasks performed to run theCSN UROP
Assemble and organize educational materials as well as laboratory equipment/materials. Set up, Clean, and break down laboratory equipment Communicate with the Coordinator for information etc. Communicate with Mentor(s) Minimum Qualifications U.S. citizenship or have a valid employment authorization document (EAD) permitting you to work in the U.S. Minimum age 18 at time of workshop Must have taken 6+ Credit hours, Spring or 3+ Credit hours, Summer- required Continuing junior and senior undergraduates enrolled in classes for the upcoming fall semester.
