We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instructor to lead and contribute to cutting-edge research focused on the molecular mechanisms of translocation renal cell carcinoma (tRCC). This position requires a strong background in molecular cancer biology, the ability to independently drive research projects, and a collaborative approach to advancing scientific discovery. Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct laboratory research to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying tRCC development
- Collaborate with faculty researchers and interdisciplinary teams to plan, execute, and advance research studies
- Collect, process, interpret, and analyze experimental data using rigorous scientific methods
- Utilize CRISPR/Cas9 technology to develop and optimize tRCC mouse models
- Perform in-depth characterization of mouse models to elucidate disease progression and biology
- Prepare manuscripts and contribute to the publication of research findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals
- Mentor trainees and support a productive and innovative research environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of experimental procedures and results in compliance with institutional standards Minimum Qualifications Ph.
D. in Molecular Cancer Biology or a closely related biological science field Minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral research experience demonstrating increasing independence Strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology techniques Proven record of scientific contributions, including peer-reviewed publications Experience designing and implementing complex research studies Preferred Qualifications Prior research experience in kidney cancer, particularly translocation renal cell carcinoma (tRCC) Hands-on experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and mouse model development Demonstrated ability to secure funding or contribute to grant applications Experience working in collaborative, multidisciplinary research environments UT Southwestern Medical Center is committed to an educational and working environment that provides equal opportunity to all members of the University community.
