Job Description

To teach lecture and/or lab courses as assigned by the Department Chair. Selected applicants will be interviewed to establish a pool of approved Anatomy & Physiology instructors for possible Part-Time teaching assignments in the Science Department.. Adjunct faculty are responsible for providing high-quality instruction in the classroom or laboratory settings. The instructor supports student learning by delivering engaging course content, assessing student performance, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment aligned with the mission of the community college. Compensation is based on type of course and number of students, paid by Part time employment agreement. Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Anatomy & Physiology and or related courses from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. Minimum Required Experience Community college and/or secondary teaching experience preferred.

To teach and prepare in-person lectures and labs in one or more of the following courses:
BIOL 2401
- Anatomy & Physiology
I BIOL 2402
- Anatomy & Physiology II Ability to communicate with written and oral expertise in the English language. Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture and lab experiences. Ability to teach students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. Ability to explain complex concepts in accessible ways. Effective classroom management and student engagement skills. Computer literacy required with ability to use instructional technologies and learning management systems such as Blackboard. Proficiency in the use of microscopes, dissection equipment and other A&P laboratory models. Teach all courses as assigned using effective, student-centered instructional methods. Teach face-to-face, and/or hybrid classes as needed Utilize instructional technology and the learning management system (LMS) Blackboard for course delivery and communication. Help develop and deliver course materials, syllabi, assignments, labs, and assessments that align with departmental learning outcomes and accreditation standards. Ensure safe and compliant laboratory practices, including chemical handling, microscope use, dissection protocols, and equipment maintenance. Use strategies that support diverse learners, including first-generation, multilingual, adult, developmental, and STEM-aspiring students. Communicate clearly and professionally with students regarding expectations, progress, and academic support. Create and maintain a classroom environment that is respectful, inclusive, and conducive to learning. Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and practical assessments; provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress and submit certification of roles to registrar by required deadline. Adhere to college policies and provide timely, constructive feedback to support student learning and improvement. Perform other duties as assigned.
