Role Overview:
BEPC is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Gas & Chemical Technician to support gas, chemical, and slurry operations within a leading semiconductor manufacturing environment. This hands-on role is responsible for inventory management, chemical logistics, shipment documentation, equipment support, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of gas and chemical distribution systems across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting wafer fabrication operations, chemical and gas handling systems, and maintaining strict safety and quality standards in a fast-paced technical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support gas, chemical, and slurry distribution equipment across Santa Clara and Sunnyvale facilities. Manage inventory levels, material movement, chemical deliveries, and shipment documentation. Accurately document shipments and maintain required operational records. Perform cylinder and drum changes on gas and chemical distribution systems. Support chemical storage, offloading, transfer, and logistics activities. Troubleshoot and resolve gas and chemical equipment issues. Perform preventative maintenance and support repair activities. Assist with installation, startup, decommissioning, and modification of gas and chemical systems. Support and maintain more than 2,000 pieces of gas and chemical distribution equipment from multiple vendors. Write, revise, and execute operating, maintenance, and safety procedures. Support quality systems, training initiatives, and sustaining operations. Maintain a zero-incident culture focused on safety, quality, and operational excellence. Utilize pallet jacks and material handling equipment to transport materials safely. Support emergency preparedness activities and response procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Experience supporting gas or chemical applications within a wafer fabrication or semiconductor manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of chemical and gas handling practices, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. Emergency response experience or readiness to participate in emergency response activities. Experience with inventory management and shipment documentation. Ability to perform cylinder and drum changes safely and efficiently. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to lift, move, and transport materials as required. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced technical environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Barcode scanning experience. Forklift certification or operational experience. Experience using pallet jacks and material handling equipment. Semiconductor manufacturing or wafer fabrication experience. Experience supporting gas, chemical, or slurry delivery systems. Familiarity with equipment from EMD Electronics, Applied Energy Systems, Fuji liquid delivery systems, or Air Liquide gas and chemical systems. Preventative maintenance and equipment technician experience. Strong computer, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
