Job Description

LC-MS/MS ENGINEER/ TECHNICIAN
Maintenance and oversight of all
LC-MS/MS
systems and their requisite components. Research and development projects regarding the addition of drugs. The
LC-MS/MS
Technician also works directly with the Lab Manager to ensure all lab operations meet compliance regulations. M-F 9:30-5:30pm The duties and responsibilities are as follows: Maintenance Completion of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks and evaluations for all production LCMS instruments. Verify 6 month PM procedures for LC and MS systems as necessary. Performing troubleshooting steps to identify problems and fixing non-invasive hardware failures. Finding workarounds or solutions for software errors resulting from Analyst/ Multiquant. Assisting the manufacturer in the orientation, application, and installation of new hardware for testing purposes. Collaborating with and scheduling manufacturers and their service engineers for PM procedures and repairs. Keep an inventory of all consumable parts including columns, guards, fittings, tubings, reagents and other related items ensure items are ordered in advance to maintain production workflow without downtime. R&D For prospective new drug offerings provide drug discovery and application evaluation. Be able to add new drugs/panels in software or modify existing drugs/panels Assist with R&D projects as determined by the Director. Misc. • Preparation of all mobile phase, washes, and cleaning solutions. Labeling and documentation of all chemical hazards and their respective protective equipment. Disposal of instrument waste and coordination of its removal.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry or Biochemistry, advanced degrees preferred Experience in a laboratory setting, toxicology setting Experience with the operation of Liquid Chromatograph/Mass Spectroscopy techniques and equipment, Analyst operating software and Multiquant integration software Experience with R&D applications, including method development in a toxicology setting
