Meter Technician II
DescriptionThe following Career Opportunity is currently available within Chesapeake Utilities Corporation.
Performs meter changes for customers.
Responds to and investigates gas odor complaints and gas leaks.
Utilizes and maintains gas detection equipment. Verifies customer equipment is safe and complies to applicable codes. Processes disconnection of service for non-payment.
Works with customer service to investigate high and/or low bill complaints.
Assists Gas Operations Supervisor and Compliance Manager with Public Service Commission audits.
Assists with completing compliance related requirements timely utilizing work order management system.
Assists with material procurement for the department.
Who you are:
Knowledge of NFPA 54 (National Association of Fire Prevention).Knowledge of regulator and meter troubleshooting, sizing and function.
Skills Skilled in the safe operation of hand tools, working with diagnostic tools. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
Abilities Ability to read engineering drawings, manuals, code and parts diagrams.
Ability to communicate with various levels of employees and customers.
