Sample Receiving Team Lead Position Summary:
•This is a swing shift position with a schedule of 1:00pm - 9:30pm, Monday - Friday.•The Sample Receiving Technician is responsible for the timely and accurate login of samples received by RI Analytical. This includes but is not limited to receipt and input of samples to the RI Analytical LIMS system, distribution of samples to the laboratory for analysis, coordination of transfer of samples to subcontract laboratories, and additional operational support. The Sample Receiving Technician ensures that they perform productively and efficiently within compliance of the quality system, standard operating procedures, health & safety regulations, and company policies. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for: Ensuring adherence to Sample Acceptance, Handling, and Preservation policies. Effectively communicating with the quality department and laboratory management to resolve any sample receipt issues. Coordinating and documenting additional sample handling performed by login staff (e.g. splits, composites, filtrations, etc.). Generating Nonconformance Forms and enter conclusion entries for nonconforming samples. Coordinating with subcontracted laboratory work and shipments. Other duties as required or assigned by the Laboratory Manager and/or Laboratory Director.
Qualifications:
Education High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in environmental science, chemistry, microbiology, or related field preferred. Experience Minimum 1 year of experience in environmental laboratory functions preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to recognize areas of improvement and implement effective solutions.
