Position Overview:
We are seeking motivated and safety-conscious Megasys Technical (Gas Operations) Technicians to support chemical and gas distribution operations within a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Austin, TX. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for safely operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting gas and chemical delivery systems that support the production of semiconductor chips used in smartphones, LED displays, and other electronic devices. This position includes approximately three weeks of paid on-the-job training , providing candidates with the technical skills needed to succeed. High-performing contractors may be considered for permanent employment based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities Safely operate and monitor gas and chemical distribution systems. Handle, transport, and perform change-outs of gas, chemical, and slurry containers. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on gas and chemical delivery equipment. Monitor system performance and respond to equipment alarms or operational issues. Utilize computer systems to document activities, monitor equipment, and support production requirements. Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records. Support quality systems and follow established operating procedures. Follow all company safety policies, environmental procedures, and ISO quality standards. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely work with hazardous materials when required. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support manufacturing operations. Physical Requirements Walk approximately 5-6 miles per shift . Lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds . Frequently bend, kneel, squat, and perform overhead reaching. Occasionally climb tanker trucks using fall protection equipment to assist with chemical offloading. Wear a supplied breathing air respirator during certain chemical handling tasks (typically 10-15 minutes at a time). Successfully complete a Fit-for-Duty evaluation, including: Pulmonary Function Test Hearing (Audiogram) Baseline Physical Examination Wear required PPE including: Safety glasses (prescription available if needed) Hard hat Hearing protection Chemical-resistant apron Protective gloves Steel-toe safety boots (voucher provided) Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Valid Driver's License. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong mechanical aptitude. Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a Maintenance Technician, Equipment Technician, Production Technician, or Industrial Mechanic. Experience working with gas, chemical, or fluid distribution systems. Military technical training or equivalent mechanical experience. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Technical education, recent college graduates, or military veterans are encouraged to apply.
