View More Jobs Chemical Technician Salt Lake City, UT, United States (On-site) Be the First to Apply Apply Now Job Description Position Summary This chemistry Technician is responsible for performing chemical testing for ICU Medical products and chemicals: This position is 100% onsite at our Salt Lake City, UT manufacturing facility. Monday-Friday day shift with no weekend or holiday work aside from the week of July 4th. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Performs HPLC testing on all ClearGuard lots per written procedure. Interpret and review test data against the acceptance criteria. Produce several different chemicals for the plant used in the manufacturing area. In addition test these chemicals according to their governing procedure/requirements. Proficient in chemical testing such as HPLC, FT-IR, Specific Gravity, and Nonvolatile testing. Investigate test results; determine possible causes for failure and recommend possible corrective action. Record results of testing on log and appropriate forms. Laboratory maintenance tasks such as chemical laboratory glassware cleaning and conductivity testing of cleaned glassware. Manages lab consumables used in the Chemical Quality Assurance lab. Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications Computer proficiency and adaptability working with a variety of databases, word processing, spreadsheet, etc. Ability to work in a team environment with shifting priorities and requirements. Previous experience testing medical devices a plus Good organizational and communication skills required Education and Experience Must be 18 years of age Associate Degree preferred. One year of experience in medical device industry-based Laboratory. Laboratory experience in industry-based setting or university laboratory experience is also preferred. Technical knowledge in the field required. Knowledge of physical sciences, laboratory equipment. Physical Requirements and Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This job operates in a professional office environment.
