Position Summary:
Performs testing and analysis of raw materials, intermediate and bulk products to determine identity, purity, quality, strength, and composition. Proficient with core Pharmavite methods for physical testing, wet chemistry, and instrumental methods. Supports peer data review and investigational testing as needed. Once qualified, can perform assigned test methods independently with limited oversight.Responsibilities:
Provides onsite testing, troubleshooting, and lab-related support during assigned work shift with effective relief communications to peers/team Performs physical, chemical, and instrumental testing as assigned on raw materials, bulk and finished products; in support of QC release, investigations, method development/improvement, stability or development studies. Performs physical testing techniques such as density, specific gravity, LOD, particle size, tablet or fill weight, and similar. Performs chemical testing techniques such as titration, FT-NIR, Raman, moisture, dissolution, UV, and similar. Performs instrumental analytical testing techniques as qualified and assigned, such as NMR, GC, HPLC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, and similar. Documents and submits all raw data and results generated from tests per Pharmavite Standard Methods (PSMs). Documents all data in the Lab notebook according to cGMP. Supports peer data review and investigational testing as needed. Prepares and standardizes materials used in chemical analyses. Conducts scheduled calibration of laboratory instrumentation (such as thermometers and weighing balance). Performs general laboratory duties including cleaning and maintenance of work area and checking notebooks. Ensures that OOS results are reported immediately to team leader/supervisor for investigation. Performs other related duties as assigned.Education:
Requires a four-year college or university degree or its equivalent in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, or related science.Certification:
None.Experience:
This is an entry-to-developing level position. Prior experience not required but is a plus.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
A basic knowledge of chemistry and analytical chemistry lab operations. Prior use of laboratory equipment such as auto titrators, balances, UV, FTIR, HPLC, GC, and ICP is preferred. Proficient in data entry and computer skills (Microsoft Office). Ability to prioritize workload while meeting deadlines. Proactive and clear verbal and written communication. Knowledge of PLM, LIMS, or similar systems is preferred.Physical Requirements:
Almost continuous exercise of manipulative skills, walking, standing. Exposed to minor health hazards; with use of appropriate PPE. Frequent, intermittent, intense and/or close attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.Environment:
Exposure to disagreeable elements is limited.Safety:
