R&D Formulator — Gummy Manufacturing

Company Description TrustWorks is a fast-growing nutraceutical manufacturer based in Los Angeles, California. We manufacture gummies, capsules, softgels, and other products for brands. We are Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified and FDA-registered. TrustWorks is currently seeking an ambitious, solutions-oriented, and creative individual to join our growing team. We are specifically looking for an individual with a minimum of 1 year of experience in gummy manufacturing. Please do not apply if you do not have experience. What you'll do Translate customer product goals into working gummy formulas — ingredients, ratios, textures, flavors, and dosage forms Develop and iterate at lab/benchtop scale, then scale up to full production runs with minimal rework Work with syrups, pectins, gelatin, active ingredients, and specialty materials including vitamins, botanicals, and oils Troubleshoot formulation issues — texture, moisture, set time, flavor masking, overage calculations Initiate and complete batch records, ensuring full compliance with GMP and quality documentation standards Maintain clear R&D documentation including batch records, formulas, and revision history Collaborate with QA and production to ensure formulas meet GMP standards and customer specs What we're looking for Minimum 1 year of hands-on gummy formulation experience in a dietary supplement or confection manufacturing environment Solid understanding of gummy systems — pectin vs. gelatin, syrup types, Brix, pH, depositing, and curing Experience calculating and applying vitamin and mineral overages Comfortable working from benchtop scale all the way through production-scale troubleshooting Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 111 and GMP documentation practices Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits — if it's not written down, it didn't happen Nice to have Experience with specialty ingredients — probiotics, botanicals, fish/algal oils, or heat-sensitive actives Background in flavor systems and color masking Exposure to vegan/pectin-based and sugar-free gummy systems Benefits 3 weeks PTO with the ability to earn more each year Friendly, fun, and welcoming environment — we genuinely care that our team enjoys coming to work Competitive pay Real growth and career opportunities as we expand Access to free supplements
