Job Summary:
The Associate Manufacturing Scientist is responsible for manufacturing complex and customized biomolecules and/or small molecules. The qualified candidate will use their expertise in extraction, complex formulation, and purification and combine with an ability to rapidly develop and absorb new techniques from internal experts and published literature to manufacture a variety of protein and oligonucleotide products and meet aggressive production timelines. The scientist will work closely with operations leadership to support estimates of cost and lead time for new work. Responsibilities will include resource planning of raw materials and equipment, batch record documentation and the manufacturing of custom product under our ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System. This is a hands-on role that requires both planning and execution in the manufacturing laboratory.
Responsibilities:
Determine the optimal technical approach and methodology to fulfill customers' requirements for complex and customized manufacturing of biomolecules, including proteins, protein-oligo conjugates, and/or small molecules. Rapidly implement new manufacturing techniques based on literature review and best industrial practices for bioprocessing. Manufacture complex and custom formulations to established specifications. Perform all work in accordance with our
ISO 9001
2015 Quality Management System. Create and revise documentation according to document control practices as needed. Some weekend/evening work is expected of this role. Perform other related duties as required or assigned. Job Qualifications (Experience, Education, Knowledge, and Skills): Bachelor's degree in biochemistry or related scientific discipline, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience. Prior experience in one or more of the following techniques:
- Gross and fine particle size reduction
- Bulk solid/liquid separation, including centrifugation and filtration
- Bulk liquid/liquid separation, including chromatography and tangential flow filtration
- Bioconjugation
- Analytical techniques including UV fluorescence and spectroscopy, HPLC, MS, and protein activity Experience working with liquid chromatography systems, specifically ÄKTA Pure and ÄKTA Avant (FPLC)
- Required .
Experience working under

requirements. Experience drafting SOPs and supporting root cause investigations (i.e., deviations, NCMRs, CAPA). Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently to provide on-time delivery of products. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe laboratory environment. Mid:
$99,563. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience, and other qualifications.
