This position is intended for experienced PhD-level chemists who enjoy solving complex synthetic challenges and translating laboratory discoveries into practical, reproducible processes. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and refinement of synthetic pathways while working closely with colleagues across multiple research projects. The role combines hands-on laboratory work with scientific planning, technical problem-solving, and collaborative project execution. Primary Responsibilities Review scientific publications, patents, and technical references to support route selection and experimental design. Plan and perform multi-step organic syntheses for research and process development projects. Investigate reaction variables and optimize conditions to improve efficiency, product quality, and reproducibility. Evaluate alternative reagents, catalysts, and synthetic strategies to support scalable manufacturing approaches. Isolate and purify intermediates and target compounds using appropriate laboratory techniques, including crystallization and chromatographic methods. Characterize reaction products through analytical instrumentation such as NMR, HPLC, GC, and mass spectrometry. Maintain complete and organized experimental records in accordance with laboratory documentation standards. Assist in guiding less experienced laboratory personnel by providing technical input and experimental support. Participate in project planning discussions and contribute scientific recommendations for ongoing development programs. Ensure laboratory activities are conducted in compliance with safety procedures and established quality practices. Keep current with emerging methodologies and advances relevant to synthetic and process chemistry. Candidate Qualifications PhD in Organic Chemistry, Process Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline. Demonstrated experience in synthetic route development and multi-step organic synthesis. Strong understanding of reaction mechanisms and process optimization principles. Practical experience with purification techniques and laboratory-scale process work. Ability to analyze and interpret data generated from common analytical instrumentation. Experience working effectively in a collaborative research environment. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and scientific accuracy. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Additional Information Please include a resume or curriculum vitae together with a research summary (up to three pages).
