Job Description

Location:
Wilmington, DE Payrate:
$31.69/hour
Schedule:
40 hours/week,
Monday-Friday Shift:
Approximately 4:00 PM-12:30 AM, with some flexibility
Work Type:
In-person We are seeking a FIB-SEM Operator to support the Leveraged Analytical Sciences group at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware. The successful candidate will be responsible for the second-shift operation of a Focused Ion Beam Scanning Electron Microscope (FIB-SEM) and will provide analytical support to Research & Development (R D), Technical Service & Development (TS&D), and Manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and perform analysis using FIB-SEM, including SEM imaging, EDS, and EBSD. Prepare samples using mechanical polishing, plasma/sputter coating, FIB-SEM cross-sectioning, and lift-out techniques. Perform basic data quality assessment and organize analytical results for reporting. Conduct routine instrument maintenance and follow laboratory safety procedures. Coordinate workflow with the first-shift FIB-SEM operator.
Requirements:
B.S. in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience with electron microscopy/FIB-SEM preferred. Laboratory chemical-handling experience. Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and communication. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
