Full-Time About Evoq Therapeutics EVOQ Therapeutics is pioneering the development of a proprietary technology that represents a genuine breakthrough for autoimmune disease therapy. EVOQ's technology utilizes a proprietary synthetic HDL NanoDisc that has been optimized to deliver antigens to dendritic cells residing in lymph nodes. The NanoDisc has demonstrated breakthrough efficacy in the gold-standard preclinical models of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Type-1 Diabetes (T1D). Success with these preclinical models is considered proof of concept for the potential utility of our therapy in a wide range of autoimmune diseases and has led to development partnerships with Gilead and Sanofi. With prevalence on the rise, autoimmune diseases have a devastating impact on the lives of 23.5 million Americans, and millions more children and adults around the world. Position Summary We are seeking a Scientist with experience in lipid-based nanoparticle systems and a passion for autoimmune drug development. This role will focus on production, characterization, release testing, process development, and stability assessment of NanoDisc formulations for Evoq's autoimmune disease pipeline. The position will also support discovery-stage activities, daily laboratory operations, instrumentation maintenance, and documentation review. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently executing laboratory activities while contributing to operational support and process development efforts in a collaborative startup environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct production and quality control testing of NanoDisc-based immunotherapies targeting autoimmune diseases. Execute release testing and other evaluations utilizing in-vitro characterization tools (e.g., DLS, SEC, HPLC, pH, Osmolality, Endotoxin testing) to assess quality. Design and execute studies to optimize formulation parameters, including peptide evaluation, lipid composition, particle size, small molecule incorporation/encapsulation, and stability. Help maintain laboratory readiness through support of equipment upkeep, inventory/shipping coordination, waste management, and documentation review activities (~25%) Accurately document and review experiments using an electronic laboratory notebook system. Previous experience using Benchling or other electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) systems is a plus Qualifications • MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Immunology, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or BS with 4 to 6+ years in industry. Experience with production and/or release testing of biologics, nanoparticles, or other drug products Experience with peptide, lipid and/or nanoparticle handling in the laboratory. Ability to use sterile techniques while working with drug product components and formulations. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines in a dynamic biotech setting. Good communication, time management, troubleshooting and data presentation skills. Ability to utilize critical thinking and scientific judgment to troubleshoot experimental and operational issues Ability to independently prioritize and execute laboratory activities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent documentation skills with attention to detail, accuracy and integrity. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with production and/or quality control in a biotech/pharmaceutical environment. Familiarity with methods used for analytical nanoparticle characterization such as DLS, SEC, RP-HPLC.
General knowledge of laboratory operations, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, shipping/logistics coordination, and maintaining an organized laboratory environment. Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on scientific responsibilities with operational support activities in a fast-paced biotech setting. Experience with additional techniques such as lyophilization or working with small molecules is not required but a plus. Experience in formulation development, analytical development, and peptide handling is a plus.
