: (why does job exist) Full-time, hourly position that performs day-to-day quality control tasks, including but not limited to, materials inspection and testing, quality data review/management, issuance and review of batch files/labels, reserve/stability samples upkeep, and communication of quality data. The position requires the use of basic, to advanced, quality tools and instruments in a laboratory setting including but not limited to: ICP-OES (2+ years' experience preferred), HPLC (3+ years' experience).Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Tests products for physical and chemical properties at various stages of production processes. Inspect production lines and materials, according to quality criteria. Ensures 24-hour turnaround time (TAT) in Lotions & Dispersions testing and release, ensures a 48-hour TAT in powders testing and release Actively participates in customer complaint investigations, 5 why exercises, deviations, corrective actions, preventative actions, out of specification results and non-conformities (NCRs).- Must be able to perform lab testing related to API (dry and Wet), lotions and dispersions.
- Coordinates lab equipment repairs, external calibrations.
- Compiles and evaluates data generated to determine quality status of in-process, finished goods, and other special tests, as assigned.
ICP-OES & HPLC
- Must be able to understand the inorganic and organic aspect of chemistry Must be a to understand the analytical output of the following laboratory instruments: UV/Vis, FTIR, GC, HPLC
- Must be able to scan and file documentation, provide support in sample retains and organization of the sample retain system. Manage Lab waste accumulation and disposal activities
- Maintain Lab supplies (purchasing) and 5S program.
- Maintain safe operation of Chem Lab and SDS act as Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO).
