This position is ideal for the self-motivated and detail-oriented seeking the reward of a challenging new role. Lab Assistants are responsible for supporting our Research Development & Engineering team with laboratory research projects. This includes the testing of mosquito formulations for various physical and chemical product properties. This opportunity is a temporary position that will last up to 10 months (or about 1,500 total hours of work)

WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5

PM Rate:

$18.00/hour

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform analytical testing in support of R D projects and objectives Assist in development and validation of new analytical methods Participate in data collection of GLP Studies. GLP Training will be provided Participate in small group meetings to foster critical thinking and sharing of new ideas Become proficient in various analytical methods, including the following techniques: Determination of Active Ingredient Content by HPLC Sample Extraction and Clean-Up Solution Preparation and Serial Dilution Determination of Specific Gravity by Pycnometer Determination of pH Perform daily calibration checks on analytical equipment (balances, meters... etc.) Document and communicate daily work accurately Ensure safe work practices and procedures are followed at all times

QUALIFICATIONS

Background in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Biology, with experience in Analytical Chemistry Recent graduate from an accredited University or College preferred Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties in the field where environmental conditions are affected by weather Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
