Job Description

We are seeking a QC Group lead to join our client in Vernon Hills, IL. This is a hands-on working lead role balancing bench-level chemistry testing with day-to-day oversight of the Chemistry QC team, ensuring accurate, compliant, cGMP-aligned testing and documentation.
Key Responsibilities Testing:
Perform routine/complex chemistry analysis, calculations, and documentation per SOPs and cGMP; model right-first-time execution.
Team Leadership:
Balance personal testing load with scheduling, prioritization, and troubleshooting support for analysts.
Quality Oversight:
Review data/records pre-QA, reinforce documentation standards, support SOP maintenance.
Investigations:
Lead/support OOS, OOT, and deviation investigations; support CAPA follow-up.
Training:
Mentor analysts on methods, documentation, and quality standards; support onboarding/qualification.
Audits:
Support internal/client/regulatory audits; act as liaison between QC staff, management, and QA.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify workflow gaps and partner cross-functionally to improve throughput and quality. Desired Qualifications BS in Chemistry, Pharma Sciences, or related field 5-10 years cGMP analytical chemistry experience Proven ability to blend hands-on work with informal leadership Strong grasp of analytical methods, calculations, and data integrity OOS/deviation/CAPA experience Solid MS Office skills; strong communication and judgment
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
