This role focuses on method development, sample preparation, instrumental analysis, data interpretation, and reporting to ensure accurate characterization of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. The chemist will work cross functionally with R D, Quality, and Regulatory teams to support compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

this position will be cross trained with other QC lab and testing functions. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Essential Job Duties Perform routine and advanced LC/MS analyses, including method development, optimization, and validation Prepare samples, reagents, calibration standards, and mobile phases for LC/MS testing. Maintain and troubleshoot LC/MS instrumentation, ensuring proper calibration, tuning, and system suitability. Analyze, interpret, and report LC/MS data using specialized software such as Empower, OpenLAB, or similar. Conduct contaminant identification, impurity profiling, degradation studies, and structural elucidation using LC/MS. Develop and document new analytical methods and SOPs, ensuring regulatory alignment. Perform routine analytical chemistry tasks, including wet chemistry, chromatography analyses, and general QC testing. Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks, electronic records, and test reports. Collaborate with scientific teams to support research, quality control, product development, and troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with GMP/GLP, safety regulations, and internal quality systems. Participate in investigations, out of specification reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in training team members on LC/MS techniques and laboratory best practices, as needed. Required Skills / Mandatory Qualifications Strong hands on experience with LC/MS instrumentation and data analysis. Knowledge of chromatographic theory, mass spectrometry principles, and analytical method development. Critical thinking and advanced problem solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and workflows. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with laboratory software and electronic data systems. Ability to present analytical findings to technical and non technical audiences. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (required). Master's or Ph.D. preferred, especially with focus in analytical or instrumental chemistry. 3 to 5 years of hands on laboratory experience, including LC/MS exposure in pharmaceutical, chemical, or related industry. Physical Requirements in the Working Environment Prolonged periods sitting or standing while operating laboratory instruments. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed for laboratory supplies and equipment.
