Laboratory Services Work Location Lexington, KY Grade Level 12 Salary Range $30.00-53.67/hour Type of Position Staff Position Time Status Full-Time Required Education BS Click here for more information about equivalencies: https://hr.uky.edu/employment/working-uk/equivalencies Required Related Experience 3 yrs Required License/Registration/Certification None Physical Requirements Lifting up to 25 pounds, standing for long periods of time. Shift Primary shift may be 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift including weekends and holidays. May be asked to cover other shifts based on the needs of the department. Job Summary This position will keep laboratory operations efficiently through proper instrument maintenance and function; keep toxicology procedures current.
Duties of this position are:
Management/Review of QC/QA data for all assays and instrumentation within designated section. Meeting with section directors for monthly report reviews. Review/Update/ Maintain assay procedures as required. Monitors testing personnel's adherence to procedures. Review results to readily detect errors. Oversees designated area's supply inventory. Maintains designated area CAP compliance and inspection readiness. Performs staff competency assessments. Both initial and annual. Communicated with team members/lab staff with respect to testing delays, assay/instrument status and other issues affecting their area of responsibility. In times of short staffing, position may require participation in performing patient testing.
