Surfactants Lab Team Lead Geismar, LA The world needs [creative] solutions. We need YOU! Where the chemistry happens... We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading Geismar's Surfactants Laboratory in a safe and efficient manner. Monitoring of laboratory Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be key to ensure that areas of strength are maintained, and continuous improvement opportunities are identified and pursued. The position will lead a Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ISO 9001-certified laboratory that must adhere to regulatory quality requirements including, but not limited to: Food & Drug Administration guidance for Active Pharmecutical Ingredients (API), ISO 9001 systems, EXCiPACT, Responsible Care Management System (RCMS), Halal, and Kosher. The position has organizational responsibility for leading and developing a laboratory team of (1) Technologist, (1) Continuous Improvement-Validation Specialist, and multiple Quality Control Technicians. As a Surfactants Lab Team Lead, Your attention to detail and background in analytical chemistry will serve you well in leveraging Statistical Process Control and developing KPIs for determining areas of strength, as well as opportunities for improvement Your strong knowledge of regulatory principles is desirable for supporting compliance efforts for various regulatory standards, including but not limited to: Food & Drug Administration guidance for Active Pharmecutical Ingredients (API), ISO 9001 systems, EXCiPACT standard, and Responsible Care Management System A solid customer focus/solutions mindset and ability to communicate effectively at multiple organizational levels will afford you opportunities to evaluate sample methodologies and work processes to ensure that needs of internal business partners and external customers are consistently exceeded Your organizational responsibilities for a Technologist, a Continuous Improvement Specialist, and multiple Technicians will enable you to drive long-term sustainable improvements while instilling day-to-day fundamentals such as equipment troubleshooting, standards/controls compliance, etc. A creative mindset will be a welcomed attribute for purposes of identifying innovative approaches to historically standard work practices Your ability to collaborate will allow you to partner with key stakeholders for purposes of developing department-wide objectives and team-specific goals in support of those objectives Your ability to visualize the abstract will enable you to develop a strategic vision for your team Agility will serve you well in your interactions with your front-line team, staff professionals, business group peers, as well as functional and business group senior leadership Privacy Statement BASF takes security & data privacy very seriously.
