Job Summary Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for the position of Coordinator of the Chemistry Resource Centers. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The Chemistry Resource Center Coordinator manage the day-to-day operations of the General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry Resource Centers, including student staff supervision.
The Chemistry Resource Center is a collaborative learning environment responsible for providing students the necessary academic support to improve Chemistry learning and understanding through tutoring, workshops and other academic programming. AA/EOE Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in Chemistry or STEM related discipline.
Must have teaching or formal tutoring experience Preferred Qualifications Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills 3 to 5 years of experience in higher education Special Requirements Summary Work Hours Full-time
Some evenings and weekends required
KSA's Knowledge, Education, Experience, and Proficiencies Two to 3 years teaching or formal tutoring experiences in a Chemistry Tutoring Center, preferably at the college level.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Description Work with Director for the Student Academic Support to ensure learning outcomes set by
Departmental Faculty liaisons are implemented and met;
Supervise student tutors;
Provide direct General and Organic Chemistry tutoring to students;
Assist with promotion, events, and advertisement;
Create, gather and report data and documentation for SASO and the university relations to the functionalities
Perform related duties as assigned
