Company DescriptionDeciphera, a member of Ono Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., is a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercializing important new medicines and providing hope to people living with cancer, neurologic and autoimmune disease. Deciphera is leveraging its proprietary switch-control kinase inhibitor platform and deep expertise in kinase biology to develop a broad portfolio of innovative medicines. In addition to advancing multiple product candidates from Deciphera's platform in clinical studies, QINLOCK® (ripretinib) is Deciphera's switch-control kinase inhibitor approved in many countries including the European Union and the United States for the treatment of adult patients with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) who have received prior treatment with 3 or more kinase inhibitors, including imatinib.
ROMVIMZA
® (vimseltinib) is a kinase inhibitor approved in the United States for adult patients with symptomatic tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) for which surgical resection will potentially cause worsening functional limitation or severe morbidity, and in the European Union for adult patients with TGCT associated with clinically relevant physical function deterioration and in whom surgical options have been exhausted or would induce unacceptable morbidity or disability. Job DescriptionThe Senior Specialist, Compound Management is responsible for the receipt, registration, storage, tracking, preparation, and distribution of chemical and biological samples that support Deciphera's drug discovery programs. This hands-on laboratory role serves as a critical partner to research teams by ensuring sample integrity, inventory accuracy, timely request fulfillment, and complete documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate across Chemistry, Biology, IT, Facilities/EHS, CROs, and external partners to support efficient research operations and advance discovery programs.

What You'll DoManage the receipt, registration, storage, tracking, and inventory of compounds, intermediates, CRO materials, and DMSO stock solutions to ensure sample integrity and traceability.

Prepare, weigh, aliquot, solubilize, and dispense compounds while fulfilling requests for internal research teams and external collaborators with accuracy and efficiency.

Coordinate compound shipments and sample distribution activities, including labeling, documentation, and communication with CROs and research partners.

Maintain and support compound management databases, inventory systems, and informatics workflows while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and data integrity.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance system capabilities, and develop SOPs, work instructions, and workflow documentation.

Partner with research, IT, Facilities/EHS, and external stakeholders to support safe, compliant, and efficient laboratory operations.

QualificationsWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or another related scientific discipline.3+ years of experience in compound management, sample management, laboratory operations, CRO environments, or research within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage samples, inventories, documentation, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Hands-on experience with sample weighing, solution preparation, aliquoting, inventory management, tracking, and laboratory documentation.

Experience working with scientific databases, LIMS, inventory management platforms, or compound registration systems.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across scientific, technical, operational, and external partner groups.

Commitment to laboratory safety, data integrity, accurate documentation, and continuous improvement.

Preferred QualificationsDegree concentration in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related chemical science.

Experience in compound management within a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or CRO environment.

Experience improving compound management workflows, laboratory systems, data migration efforts, or process documentation.

Working knowledge of chemical safety, hazardous materials handling, OSHA requirements, and laboratory compliance practices.

Ability to identify operational challenges, propose practical solutions, and support the successful adoption of new processes and systems.

Additional InformationDeciphera is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary pay range for this role is $93,000 - $128,000. Actual compensation packages will depend on various factors, including but not limited to depth of experience, education, skillset, overall performance, and location.
