Job Description

Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Cayman Chemical Company supplies scientists worldwide with the resources necessary for advancing human and animal health. Additionally, we provide service programs that include comprehensive solutions to drive clients' projects to completion. Our mission is to make research possible. That starts by employing a talented and highly qualified group of experts that develop the tools to support research scientists. Currently, we are looking to add a Scientist I to the team to assist in providing LC-MS-based analytical services of lipids and other small molecules.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Operate and maintain
HPLC-MS/MS
instrumentation. Perform quantitative HPLC and HPLC-MS analysis of target analytes in a variety of matrices. Prepare solvents, mobile phases, and analytical samples of diverse origins. Interpret analytical data - suggest and assist in developing new analytical methods. Keep complete and accurate record of all observations, measurements, techniques, procedures, and conclusions in a laboratory notebook. Search, interpret, and utilize scientific literature. Help prepare scientific papers and technical reports for publication and/or presentation. Offer technical support to teammates, other staff, and customers as needed.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in chemistry or a related field.
Experience:
8 years (with Bachelor's), 5 years (with Master's), 0 years (with PhD). Extensive hands-on experience running HPLC and mass spectrometry equipment, developing HPLC methods, and interpreting
LC-MS/MS
data. Specific experience in drug pharmacokinetic analysis or lipid analysis preferred. Solid knowledge of organic and analytical chemistry. Proficiency in general lab calculations and common lab software. Ability to work normal business hours on-site in Ann Arbor, MI.
