Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Solvent Based Coatings Formulator to join our dynamic research and development team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling up solvent-based coating formulations that meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Your expertise in formulation chemistry, polymer synthesis, and analytical techniques will drive the creation of cutting-edge coating products for diverse industrial applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to product innovation while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and quality standards. Duties Design and develop new solvent-based coating formulations utilizing advanced knowledge of organic chemistry, polymers, and materials engineering. Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate formulation properties, including adhesion, durability, chemical resistance, and environmental stability. Perform chemical scale-up projects from laboratory to pilot plant, ensuring consistency and quality in manufacturing processes. Utilize analytical techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), spectroscopy, and chromatography to analyze raw materials and finished products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality control, regulatory affairs, and product development to optimize formulations for commercial production. Ensure all formulations comply with FDA regulations, CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), ISO 9001 standards, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements. Document experimental procedures, results, and process modifications accurately while supporting intellectual property law considerations. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field with extensive laboratory experience. Proven expertise in formulation chemistry, polymer synthesis, and materials analysis within an industrial or research setting. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical research processes including drug discovery, drug development research projects, clinical trials, and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice). Experience with laboratory instruments such as high-performance liquid chromatographs (HPLC), spectrometers, chromatography systems, and other analytical tools. Familiarity with FDA regulations, CGMP standards, ISO 9001 quality management systems, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance. Skilled in experimental design (Design of Experiments), laboratory experiment design, and materials analysis techniques. Excellent cross-functional communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams involved in product development and manufacturing. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
