Full-time | Laboratory Start-Up Leadership Role Position Overview Synergized Search is seeking a Lead Quality Control / Analytical Chemist to support the startup and technical leadership of a hemp testing laboratory in Minneapolis. This is a high-impact role suited for an experienced analytical chemist who thrives in laboratory build-out environments , enjoys implementing validated workflows, and is comfortable taking ownership of method development, regulatory readiness, and technician training . The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead for analytical operations , helping establish procedures that meet state regulatory requirements and support the laboratory's path toward

2017 accreditation . Key Responsibilities Method Development & Validation Lead implementation, optimization, and validation of analytical methods supporting hemp compliance testing Ensure laboratory SOPs meet applicable state regulatory standards Support laboratory readiness for
ISO/IEC 17025
2017 accreditation Design validation protocols (accuracy, precision, linearity, LOD/LOQ, robustness, specificity) Instrumentation Leadership Implement and maintain analytical workflows using:
GC/MS HS-GC/MS HPLC-DAD HPLC-QQQ
(LC-MS/MS) PCR instrumentation Quality & Laboratory Operations Perform routine calibrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs Prepare samples and perform analytical testing Process and interpret analytical datasets Present results in clear, client-ready reporting formats Support OOS investigations and corrective actions as needed Documentation & Compliance Develop, author, and maintain SOPs and analytical methods Maintain traceable documentation aligned with quality system expectations Support internal audits and accreditation preparation activities Team Leadership Train laboratory technicians on: Instrument operation Sample preparation Analytical workflows Data interpretation best practices Establish consistent analytical workflow standards across the lab Required Qualifications BS in Chemistry or related field + 7+ years analytical laboratory experience , or MS in Chemistry or related field + 4+ years analytical laboratory experience Demonstrated experience writing and implementing SOPs Strong troubleshooting and independent decision-making capability Experience operating multiple analytical platforms (chromatography + mass spectrometry preferred) Ability to lead technical execution within a startup laboratory environment Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of
ISO/IEC 17025
2017 Prior experience supporting laboratory accreditation readiness Hemp or cannabis analytical testing experience Experience with regulated laboratory environments (environmental, pharma, food safety, cannabis, or contract testing) Experience training junior staff or technicians Ideal Candidate Profile This role is well suited for someone who: Enjoys building laboratory systems from the ground up Can translate regulatory requirements into practical workflows Is comfortable balancing hands-on bench work with documentation leadership Communicates technical findings clearly to internal teams and clients Takes ownership of quality systems and analytical reliability
