Job Title:
Scientist Job Description A pharmaceutical company specializing in sterile injectable products is seeking a dedicated Scientist to join their team. The role involves leading the planning and coordination of method transfer and method verification activities, crucial for transferring analytical methods from the Innovation & Development department or between facilities to the Quality Control laboratory. The Scientist will play a key role in new product launches by becoming the expert within the Quality Control organization for critical tests. Responsibilities Coordinate and execute method transfers, method verifications, and co-validations of testing procedures within the Quality Control laboratory. Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions. Execute verification protocols to verify vendor and USP analytical methods. Review obtained results and verification reports following method transfers and verification protocols. Serve as a liaison between I&D departments or Production Units and the QC Chemistry laboratory for transferring and implementing new testing procedures. Act as a subject matter expert for critical tests supporting new product launches. Identify and investigate complex problems in QC laboratories and provide technical support for resolution. Prepare documentation for regulatory submissions as required. Review, update, and approve documentation such as protocols, test methods, SOPs, and raw material/finished product specifications. Participate in the orientation and training of laboratory employees in new analytical method techniques. Handle complex projects with general guidance, establish work priorities, and ensure assignments are completed on schedule. Function as an analytical project leader in inter-departmental meetings. Interface with Plant Operations and Technical Transfer personnel to resolve technical issues requiring analytical support. Essential Skills Minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceuticals with a strong understanding of GMP. Proficiency in HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis, Karl-Fisher, and spectroscopic methods. Experience with method verification and validation. Strong troubleshooting skills in analytical chemistry. Additional Skills & Qualifications Sound chemistry experience with examples of troubleshooting. Open to learning and developing skills in protocol writing and validation. Experience with Coagulation Analyzer and Chromogenic Assay is advantageous. Work Environment The role follows a normal 1st shift schedule, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The position reports to the Analytical Services manager but is not part of the QC team. The work environment is dynamic, with the site rapidly growing its manufacturing capabilities, moving towards more complex molecules in IV bags, including heparin, chemo drugs, and antibiotics. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
