Job Description
Purpose of Position:
This position is primarily responsible for the development of pilot and full-scale manufacturing processes for skincare, personal care and color cosmetic products.Essential Functions:
- Develops and revises Master Batch Record documentation related to internal and external formula transfers
- Develops and maintains a liaison with R&D, Quality Control, Manufacturing and other departments to successfully manufacture pilots, production batches, troubleshoot in-process batches, and implement process improvements
- Monitors and records observations on new product scale-up activities, pilots, and first production batches in Manufacturing
- Independently conduct bench batches of cosmetic formulations (including hot pours) and provide processing recommendations
- Efficiently reports on status of projects to the 1st Shift Process Engineering team on a nightly basis
- Evaluates and recommends new processing equipment & systems for bulk manufacturing to ensure continued sophistication and improvement in the manufacturing department
- Assists Senior Engineer and Validation Specialist in the development of OTC Validation Protocols and their implementation
- Conduct validation swab testing as required during second shift
- Adheres to GMP guidelines in the maintenance of documents, manufacturing and change control procedures Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, etc.)
- 3+ year experience in process engineering with personal care products (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must be able to think critically and analytically ("Think outside the box") to resolve issues and make improvements
- Bilingual in English/Spanish and Color-matching experience an asset
