QA/QC CHEMIST
The QC Chemist is responsible for reviewing, validating, and approving analytical data from mineral and geochemical testing to ensure accuracy, precision, and compliance with laboratory quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and interpret analytical data Develop, validate and implement analytical methods Stay current with new developments in the field of analytical chemistry Interpret and communicate results to colleagues, stakeholders and clients Perform quality control procedures and ensure that data is accurate and meets the required standards Monitor and analyze quality control data to identify trends Collaborating with production to resolve quality issues Mentor colleagues and provide guidance and support as needed Participate in internal audits and inspections as needed Support improvement to QC workflows as sample volumes increases Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies Maintain efficient turnaround times by prioritizing and completing QC review in a timely manner
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or equivalent experience and education in related field Strong background in method development and validation Familiarity with mass spectrometry and spectroscopy techniques Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical chemistry environment Expert knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques and instrumentation Proficiency in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) Excellent organizational, attention to detail and time management skills Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Hands on experience with operation and maintenance of ICP-MS, ICP-OES and AA Instrumentation (experience with Agilent platforms an asset) Strong knowledge of Quality Control lab practices, procedures and instrumentation
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
