Summary :
Performs diversified raw material and/or finished product testing according to established procedures in all areas of the analytical laboratory . Responsible for analytical methods development and validation of test materials.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains a working knowledge of raw material control and/or finished product analysis. May discuss procedural problems with customers and/or interplant personnel. Performs daily raw material in-process bulk and/or finished product testing to support production.Operates analytical instrumentation:
IR spectrophotometer, gas chromatograph and UV-visible spectrophotometer, HPLC, XRF and Karl Fischer. Keeps inventory on chemicals and apparatus and writes purchase orders for these materials. Develops test methods for and performs new product assays. Performs equipment installation/operational/performance qualification on lab equipment. Knowledge of USP requirements. Qualifies/transforms products to test methods ( completes documentation of such). Maintenance and calibration of equipment. Contributes suggestions for improving laboratory methods and procedures. Performs special project work with minimum supervision. Participates in the analytical in-house education training program. Any other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related field Minimum of three years of industry or relevant experience. K nowledge,Skills and Abilities :
Ability to operate diverse analytical lab equipment. Analytical procedure development, validation experience, and writing skills. Effective communication skills- internal and customer contact re-procedure development or resolution of procedure concern.
