Senior Bench Chemist Position Summary:
The Junior Quality Chemist supports quality assurance and quality control activities for the manufacturing of retail and industrial cleaning products. This role is responsible for conducting routine laboratory testing, ensuring product formulations meet specifications, and assisting in maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Perform routine chemical and physical testing of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods Document and analyze test results to ensure compliance with product specifications and quality standards
  • Assist in the development, review, and evaluation of data to establish product and raw material standards to support product manufacturing work procedures and to control and eliminate product failure caused by chemical, physical, and biological factors. Participate in pilot scale up of new products.
  • Keep the Senior Bench Chemist fully aware of new developments and issues regarding Product Development Projects.
  • Modify existing formulations as requested.
  • Assist in verifying formulation accuracy and batch consistency during production
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality system enhancements
  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety guidelines, and company policies
  • Assist in internal and external audits as needed
  • Work cross-functionally with production, R&D, and regulatory teams
Qualifications Education:
Technical degree in Chemistry, Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field required
Experience:
0-2 years of laboratory or quality experience (internships or co-ops acceptable) Experience in consumer goods, chemicals, or manufacturing preferred Skills & Competencies Basic knowledge of analytical techniques (e.g., titration, pH measurement, viscosity testing) Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting Solid understanding of laboratory safety practices Good organizational and time management skills Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work independently with supervision Effective communication and teamwork skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) Working Conditions Laboratory and manufacturing floor environment Exposure to chemicals, fragrances, and cleaning agents (appropriate PPE provided) Standing for extended periods

From $50,000.00 per year
