Chemist provides direction and manages chemistry programs, reviewing data, monitoring performance, communicating with other Clean Energy Center (CEC) departments, maintaining regulatory compliance, writing reports, managing special projects, training personnel, maintaining analytical and radioanalytical instrumentation, maintain in-line instrumentation, maintain quality control. This position will routinely function in a mentoring role and utilizes experience to function with minimal oversight. Primary Duties and Accountabilities Manage Chemistry programs through the review and analysis of chemistry data, CEC walkdowns, participation in CEC troubleshooting plans, and implementation of new strategies/practices to improve performance. Communicate chemistry issues, performance, and needs with CEC management and other departments. Complete or provide input to Chemistry and CEC Performance Indicators. Provide direction and oversight of Chemistry vendors and contracts. Prepare and manage budget associated with assigned Chemistry programs. Provide input to corrective action program and CEC work management meetings. Manage special projects as required. Participate in the training program, including attending CEC and industry training, as well as preparing or delivering lesson plans associated with Chemistry. Provide leadership and mentoring in Chemistry, developing others as backups, directing key projects and assisting in vision setting for the CEC, leading the fleet working groups.
