Job Description

Job Summary:
The Chemistry Laboratory Assistant helps ensure that the freshman chemistry laboratory is properly stocked, organized, and maintained so that laboratory classes can operate efficiently and safely throughout each week of the semester.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Organizing supplies Setting up and breaking down stations Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of chemical solutions. Cleaning and maintaining the lab in good operating condition Checking equipment to ensure functionality Education Employment eligibility: Currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide required documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Chem 1 and 2 pre-requisites GPA 2.5 or higher Reliable and conscientious work ethic Ability to communicate effectively and respond to work-related communications in a timely manner. Commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance Good organizational skills and attention to detail Familiarity with chemistry lab operations and procedures Knowledge of and adherence to established Lab Safety protocols
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Occasionally lifting 25 lbs or less Typically standing or walking Using tools requiring high dexterity Exposure to chemicals May be asked to be on-call (if available and if it won t interfere with academic obligations)
