Job Description

Job Summary Responsible for driving innovation, technical development, and continuous improvement initiatives within the chemical manufacturing environment. This role leverages advanced scientific and engineering expertise to lead projects from concept through commercialization, support manufacturing and product optimization efforts, and identify opportunities for intellectual property development and protection. The position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, quality, commercial, and supply chain to deliver sustainable business results while managing technical risks, timelines, and resources. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge of chemical processes, proven experience in industrial manufacturing, excellent project management capabilities, and the ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders in a global environment. Duties Develop products based on market needs and customer requests Improve current products & processes to make them perform better, cost less or become more sustainable Design and run laboratory scale experiments to test how different product prototypes or processes perform in working environment Support the industrialization and scale up process of newly developed products or technological processes Operate advanced laboratory equipment (particle size distribution, surface area, density, rheometry and more) Analyze experimental data using specialized software and writing technical reports based on results Act as a project leader responsible for delivering milestones, reaching objectives and managing resources Collaborate with other scientists on innovative cross-disciplinary projects focused on the development of novel materials and processes Work closely with the Commercial team to align customer insights, market trends, and emerging application requirements with existing scope of work to guide future product and technology development. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to provide technical troubleshooting and process support when required Represent Qemetica at major industry exhibitions, conferences, and trade shows within the Food, Animal Feed, Coatings and similar sectors, providing technical support for company-sponsored events and exhibitions. Requirements At least a Master of Science degree, preferred a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or similar At least 5 years of progressive industrial experience in chemical sector commodity manufacturing or similar, preferred experience in precipitated silica manufacturing or application Proven technical background like understanding of manufacturing, engineering, quality and other processes in the field of chemical sector Experience in identifying an managing Intellectual Property (e.g. reading patents, writing patents applications and more) Strong project/program & risk management skills Focused on delivering sustainable results within agreed deadline (objective oriented) Good interpersonal skills and a hands-on problem-solving attitude that include stakeholder communication skills English fluency, with proficiency in additional languages highly valued
