Position type:
Exempt The Testing Laboratories Manager manages and oversees analytical testing programs at GTP, ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and execution of all testing activities. The role ensures that test methods and validation activities comply with internal procedures, applicable regulations and guidelines, industry best practices, and
EN ISO/IEC 17025
accreditation requirements. The role involves management of technical staff.
Responsibilities Would Include:
Provide strategic planning and oversight for analytical testing resources, including personnel, instrumentation, methods, and capacity forecasting. Serve as the technical authority for laboratory testing equipment, analytical procedures, and data interpretation to support manufacturing, quality, and engineering decisions. Ensure compliance of all testing activities with
ISO/IEC 17025
requirements and associated audits. Support GTP Production and Support Departments by providing analytical expertise and troubleshooting support, including raw material sampling, characterization, and root-cause investigations. Act as a mentor and leader to analytical laboratory staff by identifying training needs, supporting competency development, and fostering a strong technical culture. Collaborate with Plansee Group analytical laboratories to align on equipment standards, analytical methods, best practices, and personnel competency requirements.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masters or doctoral degree in chemistry or closely related field required. At least 5 years' experience working in a laboratory is preferred. Expertise in the field of chemical analytical methods and materials testing (e.g., XRF, XRD, SEM, OES, AAS, and GDMS). Knowledge of chemical hazards and handling. Experience implementing laboratory safety and quality assurance/quality control protocols. Experience in writing and updating standard operating procedures for methods and equipment.

Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. MS Office, SAP and SPC knowledge. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated. Ability to work in a team environment.

Handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and be able to adapt to change. U.S. Person or Permanent Resident required.
