Internal Title Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry (organic) Position Type Tenure-track School/Area School of Natural and Environmental Sciences Department Chemistry Position Description Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning in Fall 2027. A Ph.D. in organic chemistry or in a related discipline is required. We seek a dynamic teacher-scholar who will contribute to our ACS -approved program by teaching organic chemistry and developing advanced undergraduate courses in their area of expertise. The successful candidate will also establish an active research program that engages undergraduate students and promotes collaboration with the nearby Medical University of South Carolina ( MUSC ). Candidates with expertise in research areas that complement our departmental strengths, such as computational chemistry, toxicology, and pharmaceutical chemistry, are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will benefit from our participation in the NIH -funded
SC- INBRE
network, which provides extensive opportunities to support biomedical research. Applications must be submitted via the electronic portal at jobs.cofc.edu .
