Job Description Chemical Engineer | Process Scale-Up & Manufacturing Excellence | Greater Charleston, SC If you're a Chemical Engineer who enjoys solving real manufacturing challenges rather than sitting behind a desk all day, this could be a role worth exploring. I'm working with a well-established manufacturer that is investing in its manufacturing technology and engineering capabilities. They are looking for a Chemical Engineer who enjoys taking formulations from development into full-scale production while improving processes, reducing variation, and making manufacturing more efficient. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of process engineering, manufacturing, and materials science alongside a collaborative technical team. You'll have the opportunity to:
- Optimize manufacturing processes involving mixing, compounding, coating, curing, and other chemical processing operations
- Lead process improvements that increase yield, throughput, and product consistency
- Scale new formulations from the laboratory into commercial manufacturing
- Troubleshoot complex manufacturing and quality issues using structured problem-solving methods
- Partner closely with chemists, operations, quality, and manufacturing engineering
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives that have a measurable impact on plant performance We're interested in engineers with experience in:
- Chemical process engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Process scale-up, validation, and commercialization
- Continuous improvement and root cause analysis
- Batch or continuous chemical processing
- Elastomers, polymers, specialty chemicals, coatings, or similar materials manufacturing This is a highly visible engineering role where your work will directly influence manufacturing performance, product quality, and future product introductions.
