Analytical Chemistry Intern

Job Description Industrial Test Systems, Inc (ITS) is seeking a dynamic R&D Laboratory Intern for the Rock Hill, SC manufacturing plant. ITS is a leading manufacturer of instruments and chemistries designed to test water and coolant analytes. It develops innovative products, many covered by U.S. and worldwide patents, to industries such as municipal water treatment, food & beverage, craft brewing, trucking & automotive, fresh & marine aquaria, pool & spa, education, and medical diagnostics globally with offices in the US and UK.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Independently prepare various reagents, analytical standards and test solutions accurately and precisely. Calibration and maintenance of lab equipment. Assist with maintaining and updating documentation according to Standard Operating Procedures and review to reflect current processes. Assist as needed in the QC of water quality test products manufactured bt ITS.

Requirements:

Working knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices Ability to help troubleshoot any difficulties in the testing procedures is a plus Ability to follow drafted test methods, component specifications, and laboratory SOP's Wet chemistry and analytical skills pertaining to manufacturing and laboratory activities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiarity in maintaining and generating controlled documents Computer literacy, including PC operating systems Understanding of data-quality requirements of keeping a formal laboratory notebook and familiarity with ASTM, cGMP a plus Ability to maintain the QC laboratory in good working order; with proper storage of chemicals, disposal of outdated chemicals, clean lab environment, periodic quality checks of instrumentation and equipment, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. MUST have a degree or certificate in Chemistry, or be currently enrolled in a Chemistry-related program. MUST be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the
