Job Description

Industrial Test Systems, Inc. Industrial Test Systems, Inc. (ITS) is seeking a skilled and motivated Chemist to join our team in Rock Hill, SC. This exciting role combines hands-on laboratory work in both Quality Control (QC) and Research & Development (R&D) within our dynamic manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
Prepare reagents, analytical standards, and test solutions with precision and accuracy. Perform routine quality control testing to support production, following established procedures with minimal supervision. Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including balances, pH meters, titrators, colorimeters, and micropipettes. Investigate and document Out-of-Specification (OOS) results and assist in resolving technical issues. Support research and development efforts by conducting experiments and contributing to product and process improvements. Generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and ensure accurate data entry and recordkeeping within ERP systems. Maintain detailed and compliant laboratory documentation, including notebooks and controlled documents, in accordance with SOPs. Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to meet manufacturing timelines and ensure timely product release. Uphold and enforce safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including cGMP and
ISO 17025
requirements. Contribute to the review, update, and maintenance of SOPs and quality documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field. Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a manufacturing or quality control environment. Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality Management Systems. Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques and analytical testing methods. Experience with laboratory instrumentation, calibration, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic data entry is preferred. Experience with ASTM standards, cGMP documentation, and formal laboratory notebooks is a plus. Knowledge of water chemistry is desirable. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
