The main function of an Associate Scientist in the Manufacturing & Development department of Laboratories Protein Biomarkers is to support reagent manufacturing in a highly collaborative environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Order, prepare and stage raw materials to be used in downstream processes. Analyze, investigate, and correct inventory discrepancies. Manufacture reagents required for the testing of samples, including but not limited to coupling of antibody to beads, biotinylation of antibody for detection, testing of minipool and simplex reagents, batching and qualification of new lots of batched reagents, and troubleshooting problematic reagents. Conduct assigned experiments and assists in their designs. Follow regulatory guidelines and companies Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Perform assay development/redevelopment, optimization, and validation. Analyze, interpret, and report results. Make clear, concise, and logical recommendations for further action. Help to complete projects on time and within budget. May be expected to perform phlebotomy duties. Serve as expert in area of specialization in relations with other scientific personnel. Pursue a personal development program aimed at improving scientific skills and knowledge to increase effectiveness. Work on assignments that are routine in nature. Requires knowledge of lab principles, terminology, and instrumentation. Communicates effectively with supervisor and colleagues. Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work closely with other members of the laboratory. Ability to maintain a minor degree of independence to complete assigned tasks and projects. .
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant scientific discipline required
• 1 year of related experience in method or assay development or specific methodology area preferred
