Powder Paint Specialist Location:
Fort Worth, TX Status:
Full-Time, Salaried Exempt The Opportunity The Ranger Group, a leading US Engineering services firm, is currently supporting a premier manufacturer of high-performance building products in Fort Worth seeking an experienced Finishing Engineer to serve as the technical lead for their finishing department In this role, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of our coating process—from chemical pretreatment to final cure. The client is looking for a process-oriented professional who can bridge the gap between technical engineering and shop-floor execution to ensure products meet the highest standards of durability and aesthetic quality. Core Responsibilities As the Finishing Engineer, you will own the finishing process, ensuring regulatory compliance, process optimization, and efficient material management.Process Optimization:
Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for powder coating and pretreatment lines.Quality Assurance:
Monitor and perform inspections on finished goods; troubleshoot and resolve defects such as orange peel, adhesion failure, flaking, or improper cure.Chemical & Material Control:
Maintain pretreatment chemical concentrations through routine titration and monitor powder paint storage and inventory levels.Compliance & Safety:
Ensure all wastewater documentation and environmental regulatory requirements are compliant with city and state regulations; maintain strict adherence to OSHA standards.Continuous Improvement:
Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives to increase throughput, reduce defects, and minimize material waste.Vendor Relations:
Partner with chemical and powder vendors to optimize product performance for specific manufacturing applications.Requirements Critical Requirement:
•Demonstrated, hands-on experience with industrial powder paint processes is mandatory.•Education:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a finishing or manufacturing engineering role with a proven track record of process improvement.Technical Skills:
• Deep understanding of powder application systems (booths, spray guns), cure ovens, and wash systems. Proficiency in chemical titration and pretreatment process control. Strong root-cause analysis skills regarding paint and finish defects.Soft Skills:
Ability to work independently, make data-driven decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Lean Knowledge:
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and safety program management.Similar remote jobs
